Leave your car at home
By cycling to the station even once a week you could save money, get fit and help reduce congestion. Taking an alternative mode of transport just once a week can reduce congestion by 20%. Cycling for 30 minutes a day reduces the risk of heart disease by 50% and body fat falls by an average of 2-3 kg after just 4-5 months of regular cycling.
Cycle parking facilities are being improved at Beaconsfield, Great Missenden, Aylesbury, Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville stations so more people will be able to park their bikes securely and for no charge.
Cycling really is the quickest and cheapest way of getting from A-B in towns, at just 4p per mile compared to 79p in your car.
