School crossing patrollers

School crossing patrollers

School crossing patrol

Patrollers have an important role within the community helping children and their parents to cross busy roads on their journeys to and from school.

How we decide whether a crossing patrol is needed:

  • numbers of children crossing the road
  • numbers of vehicles travelling along that stretch during the time children are arriving at school.

If a site does not meet our criteria, the school may wish to sponsor a site. For more details email

Are you are interested in becoming a school crossing patroller? Are you over 18 years of age, reliable, friendly, have good health and enjoy being outdoors? We recruit both permanent and 'relief, patrollers. Relief patrollers provide cover for permanent patrollers.
