Current status

New speed limits were put into this area in March 2006.

Following feedback from the public and parish councils further changes to the speed limits in Charndon, Calvert, Granborough Steeple Claydon and Winslow were advertised.

We received no objections to these, and the new speed limits came into effect in September 2007.

A proposal to change the speed limit, from 50mph to 40mph on the residential length of Gawcott Road, Buckingham went to public consultation in June 2007. There were several objections to this proposal.

What happens next

For Gawcott Road, a Key Decision Report has been written for our cabinet member to decide the speed limit to apply. he recommendation will be announced late summer 2008

A summary of the views expressed and the approved recommendation will be available in the Cabinet Member Reports.

After the changes are in place

The police will be able to enforce the new speed limits once all the legally required signs and markings are in place.

We will continue to monitor and review the effects of the changes.
