Current status

The Area 14 speed limit review working group met on 4th October 2010 and decided the proposed changes to be advertised .

Public consultation took place from 16th March to 3rd May 2011.

Deciding the changes

The working group of  county/district councillors, council officers and police  will meet to discuss all the responses from the public consultation and make final recommendations for change.

A report on the proposed changes will be written and presented to our cabinet member for approval.
A summary of the views expressed and the approved recommendation will be available in the Cabinet Member Reports  http://democracy.buckscc.gov.uk/mgDelegatedDecisions.aspx?bcr=1&DS=2&K=1

You can ask to be sent an email when the Report is published by ‘subscribing to updates’

Implementing the changes

Once the legal documents, (the Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO), are confirmed and publicised, the speed limit will be shown by signs and ,if funds permit, by markings on the road surface at the beginning of the new speed limit.

It is expected that the new limits will be in place by the end of 2011/early 2012.

The police will be able to enforce the new speed limits once all legally required signs and markings are in place

After the changes are in place

We will continue to monitor and review the effects of the changes.

We measured the number of crashes before the change. These will  be measured again and the results compared.

We will collate any feedback received after the new limits are implemented

If future budgets allow we may carry out a further review of Areas 8 to 14 which may result in further changes.
