- Over 40/44 tonne gross weight
- Over 5.03 metres high

Our responsibilities
We, as the highway authority, alongside Thames Valley Police (TVP) are responsible for authorising all abnormal load vehicle movements using council maintained roads - not motorways or trunk roads. Abnormal loads travelling in the Milton Keynes area should contact Milton Keynes Council.
Notification of abnormal loads should be received by fax, two to five days in advance of the proposed movement:
- Buckinghamshire County Council (fax) 01296 383189
- TVP (fax) 01865 293726
We liaise closely with the police, consulting when necessary..
