Environmental Guidelines - Highway Management in the Chilterns
Over a quarter of Buckinghamshire lies within the designated protected landscape of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and in 1997 the County Council in conjunction with other highway authorities and the Chilterns Conservation Board developed the Environmental Guidelines for the Management of Roads in the Chilterns.
The original publication has now been revised and provides guidance on design and maintenance for highways engineers, developers and utilities companies working on the highway network across the Chilterns.
These guidelines have been adopted by the County Council for the whole of Buckinghamshire and not just the Chilterns AONB.
