Selling to the Council

Procurement and selling to the Council

We spend in the region of £170m each year on a wide range of goods, services and works to meet our corporate objectives, delivering high quality cost effective services to people who live and work in Buckinghamshire.

Commercial opportunities

We are currently in the transition period of implementing the new e-Sourcing Solution which enables us to advertise and invite tenders electronically. Our current opportunities and existing contracts are currently advertised on the South East Business Portal.

These windows open in a new window.

You can view contracting opportunities and apply online to participate in any projects of interest to you. The entire tender process will eventually be managed electronically via the portal.

If you are interested in doing business with us, register your organisation's details with the South East Business Portal as soon as possible. Only registered suppliers will be able to express interest and gain access to further information about the particular projects. Registration is simple and free.

Approved lists

Approved lists of suppliers are allowed for under the Councils Contracts Standing Orders. Such lists are advertised and maintained by the relevant service areas with in the Council. To express an interest in joining such a list, or to introduce your organisation to us, contact the relevant service area directly.

Purchasing within Buckinghamshire County Council

We aim to make our purchases at the most effective level and this may be achieved via individual service areas or the Procurement Team whose role is to determine policy and promote best practice in procurement for the Council.

We facilitate procurement within the Council via a range of corporate contracts and with individual service areas to tender contracts that are only needed by that area of the organisation.

Working in a consortium

The Working in a Consortium guide helps organisations work successfully in partnership to provide public services.

The guide considers whether a consortium is the right way forward and the advantages and disadvantages of working in a consortium.  This guide is written for small charities and local third sector (voluntary and charity) groups.  We also consider it to be relevant to small and medium enterprise (SME) organisations.
