We offer a scheme where parents can buy musical instruments for their school age children without paying VAT.
The following conditions apply:
- The instrument must be ordered through Aylesbury Music Centre, and not individual teachers or suppliers.
- Transactions must take place on Buckinghamshire County Council premises.
- Aylesbury Music Centre must receive the whole of the purchase price plus an £10 administrative charge, in advance of the instrument being ordered by the AMC.
- The instrument can only be ordered from the supplier by Aylesbury Music Centre.
- The instrument must be for used in lessons provided by County Music Service staff in schools, and the pupil for whom it is bought must be a full time student.
- The instrument must be appropriate to the student's needs and ability.
- There is no facility within the scheme for credit terms to be arranged.
- Any problems with the instrument covered under the manufacturer's warranty will be dealt with by the supplier, not by the Music Centre.
If the instrument is ordered or collected by yourself without the above conditions being adhered to, you will not be eligible to take part in this scheme.
Teachers are happy to advise on the suitability of instruments for pupils.

- Decide in conjunction with your child's instrumental teacher which instrument would be most suitable and then contact the supplier to confirm price and availability.
