Stockgrove Country Park
Stockgrove Country Park is located in Heath and Reach near Leighton Buzzard on the County boundary. It is co- owned by Buckinghamshire County and Central Bedfordshire Councils and managed on their behalf by the Greensand Trust.
Stockgrove Country Park was opened to the public in 1972; it comprises of c260 acres of which the core Country Park is about 80 acres of the Stockgrove Estate, which has an interesting history dating back to medieval times. It has a variety or habitats including a lake, ancient woodland conifer plantations, meadows and heath. The lake is noted for its colourful Mandarin ducks; on the meadows green woodpeckers may be seen feeding on ants among the wildflowers and grasses.
Bakers Wood is a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its semi-natural Ancient Woodland.
The rest of the site has County Wildlife Site status. The geology and landforms of the Park also have significance with the site registered as a Regionally Important Site on the ice age landforms.

• Dogs are permitted, but must be under close control. Dog bins are available.
• Cycling and horse riding are not permitted
• Paths around the lake are suitable for wheelchairs and buggies
• Picnic facilities are available
• BBQ’s are only allowed if raised off the ground (not on picnic tables)
• Café is open Tues to Fri 10.00 - 17.00 Weekends 9.30 -17.00
• Toilets are open during office hours
