Families and carers together in Buckinghamshire

Parent Partnership Logo

For representatives of groups supporting parents with children who have special educational needs.

Aims and objectives

To take parents' views to the Local Authority and contribute to the policy making process.

Who and why?

The group is made up of representatives from parent support groups, voluntary organisations and our officers.

They meet once a term to discuss issues relevant to parents of children with special educational needs so that parents views are known to the people who are developing policy.

Parent representatives sit on a variety of strategic groups including the Special Educational Needs Strategy Group and the Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership Committee.  The parent representatives ensure that parents' views are heard and understood.

Support groups who are not represented are welcome to appoint their own Parent Representative to join the group.
