Mr Fox’s fantastic tips for preventing food waste

Date: 28-07-2010

Top TV chef, Richard Fox will be showing residents in Aylesbury what to do with their leftover ingredients as he cooks up some fantastic recipes.

On Wednesday (4 August) Richard will be supporting the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire by sharing his expertise with residents at the free Play in the Park event at Vale Park, Aylesbury, organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council.  He will dish out advice and tips on how to cook great tasting recipes with leftover ingredients, how to make your food last longer and money saving ideas.

The event supports the national Love Food Hate Waste campaign which encourages residents to reduce food waste, which could save the average family up to £50 a month.

Councillor Bill Lidgate, Chairman for the Joint Waste Committee commented: “The average household throws away £480 of good food a year. We hope residents attending the event will be able to see just how easy it is to reduce their food waste and save money.”

Recipe suggestions can also be found on www.lovefoodhatewaste.com/buckinghamshire.

The event, organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council, is taking place from 11.00am to 3.00pm at Vale Park, Aylesbury, HP20 1DX. For further information call the Leisure Department at Aylesbury Vale District Council on 01296 585210.
