Local history
Upstairs in the community display cases, Wycombe Museum and Buckinghamshire County Museum have brought out a collection of treasures, celebrating the local industries and pastimes of Wycombe. The display cases now have the social history of women's institute groups which will be followed in July by as display of regalia and records from the Mayor's office.
Local Studies
On the second floor, the library has a dedicated local studies and family history research area, where you can view parish registers for south Buckinghamshire, local maps and photographs, and the Bucks Free Press newspaper on microfilm from 1856 to the present.
Teenagers - HeadSpace
Exciting new facilities on the first floor include a teenage 'Headspace' area with refreshments and music as well as books, DVDs, CDs, games, magazines, chill-out zone, computers and study spaces. With input from local teenagers, we will be running various clubs and activities.
Younger Children
There is also an extensive children and babies area with specially selected books, dvds and cds for our younger members. Regular storytimes and Bounce & Rhyme sessions take place here, as well as reading clubs and holiday activities. There is a special room to park your buggy, and spacious baby change facilities.
We are pleased to be able to offer a toy library also, where you can borrow toys and take part in craft activities and parenting sessions.
