Local history

Upstairs in the community display cases are currently displaying the High Wycombe Furniture Archive. The archive contains photographic and print material relating to furniture companies in the High Wycombe region, primarily from Ercol Limited, E. Gomme Limited (G-Plan), Skull and furniture industry union related records. This collection has been digitised resulting in a website, making the material more easily available.

Local Studies

On the second floor, the library has a dedicated local studies and family history research area, where you can view parish registers for south Buckinghamshire, local maps and photographs, and the Bucks Free Press newspaper on microfilm from 1856 to the present.

Teenagers - HeadSpace

Exciting new facilities on the first floor include a teenage 'Headspace' area with refreshments and music as well as books, DVDs, CDs, games, magazines, chill-out zone, computers and study spaces.  With input from local teenagers, we will be running various clubs and activities.

Younger Children

There is also an extensive children and babies area with specially selected books, dvds and cds for our younger members.  Regular storytimes and Bounce & Rhyme sessions take place during term time, as well as reading clubs and holiday activities.  There is a special room to park your buggy, and spacious baby change facilities.

We are pleased to be able to offer a toy library also, where you can borrow toys and take part in craft activities and parenting sessions.
