Samantha, primary NQT in a school in Lane End

The Brokerage Scheme has been fantastic. If it hadn't been for the scheme I would not have found a teaching position, as all my interviews were through it.

Simon Gibbons, secondary NQT in a school in Holmer Green

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at the speed and effectiveness of the NQT brokerage service offered by the Buckinghamshire County Council. To have more replies than I could handle, all from well respected, ambitious and high attaining schools was a welcome shock and greatly helped a new teacher to get a foothold in the teaching profession in Bucks. The school I choose has already shown a great commitment to the support of staff and pupils and a real positive attitude towards excellence in all aspects of education for the mutual benefit of all. I have the Bucks brokerage to thank for opening the right doors to allow me this excellent opportunity. Thank you.

Kay, primary NQT in a school in Chesham

I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of response I had to my application via the Brokerage Scheme. I have been contacted repeatedly for an update on my situation. So - the Scheme has been efficient and effective from my point of view.

Alyson, primary NQT in a school in High Wycombe

I found the brokerage system really helpful in that it took some of the pressure off me in trying to find a job.  I had four or five schools contact me and I was able to discuss their requirements directly before I applied.

Marie, secondary NQT in a school in Holmer Green

Thought I'd let you know that I got the job on Friday, I am delighted!  And I wanted to thank you for your help in getting it!!  It was great to have the brokerage scheme and to know that you were regularly in touch to see if I was still seeking work. Many thanks again!

Kim, primary NQT in a school near Leighton Buzzard

I found the NQT Brokerage Scheme very helpful.  The school I now work for, in fact, contacted me because they had seen my information on the scheme. I also thought it was good that the scheme frequently contacted me to ask if I had got a post in a school, so that you could make sure your information was up to date and therefore help those that still needed jobs. I would definitely recommend the scheme to any NQT friends next year. Thanks again for all your help.

Helen, primary NQT in a school near Aylesbury

I have been very impressed with the efficiency of the NQT Brokerage Scheme. It took away the headache of forever trawling through the website looking for vacancies, especially when there was still so much to do at University. Head teachers contacted me after seeing my application form, and I was lucky enough to find my ideal post in a year 3 class. My details were removed promptly when I had secured the position- very efficient. I would recommend this service to any NQT looking for a post in Buckinghamshire. THANK YOU!!

Maddie, primary NQT in a school in Burnham

I thought the scheme was brilliant. I joined a few similar pools and databases around Greater West London and didn't get any responses from them at all. I had lots of interest and job opportunities through your database. Not being familiar with the area, the database made my job search so much easier than I thought it would be. Thanks.

I just wanted to send a quick thank you for the help I received from Bucks NQT Brokerage Scheme. I was kept informed from the initial stages by the letter of conformation that you had received my application. I received feedback from several schools with positions that suited my qualifications and interests. I was overall really pleased with this service.

Thank you for your email regarding my NQT induction in Buckinghamshire. I completed my first term of NQT induction in Buckinghamshire at a combined school just outside Aylesbury and I really enjoyed my time there. The Buckinghamshire NQT induction courses were really interesting and useful. After Christmas I moved to Northumberland and I am going to complete my next 2 terms of Induction at Wooler First School starting in September. Thank you for helping to make my first term of teaching an enjoyable and supportive experience.

Anne

My NQT year has been made enjoyable due to the school I was placed in. The staff were great and the support fantastic. The courses sent on are informative and enjoyable. RE was a particularly good session along with cross curricular themes. The help and advise offered at these courses proved highly important and relevant to my induction year, helping to get through it. However the highlight of these courses has to be the fact that you get to talk to other NQTs so you never feel as if you are trying to cope with something on your own.

I trained at Oxford Brookes University and did my NQT year at a primary school in High Wycombe. My overall experience of this first year has been positive as I have had all the support that I needed through colleagues and my mentor. The teaching staff were supportive and friendly and have helped me tremendously through the difficult times, getting used to being in charge of 30 children and the general day to day running of that very daunting first term. I have had a brilliant year, thoroughly enjoy teaching and so pleased to have had the lovely year one class that I had. The NQT time was extremely helpful, especially during report writing but also because it gave opportunities to meet with others going through similar experiences.
