Meet our staff

Tracy Hamlet

Here are a few of our 14,000 employees.  Find out why they enjoy working for us.

Tracy Hamlet - Customer Service Advisor

This job is all about helping people. People often call us when they are anxious about something and need some help, but it's our job to put them at ease and help them in any way we can.  I've been amazed to learn just how many services the County Council provides.  Every day is completely different. One minute I can be taking a call about an elderly relative who needs homecare and the next I'm taking details about a pothole.  Customers really appreciate a friendly voice who can either answer their question straight away or refer them to someone else who can.

Kevin Haitt

Kevin Hiatt - Teacher

The best part of teaching is seeing how much children develop. Not just from the start of the year to the end, but even from the start of a lesson to the end of it. Ultimately being a teacher is about helping a child to be all they can be. Knowing that you play a part in that child learning and growing means you really do feel you're doing something worthwhile and it's the reason I go in to school every day.

Kanak Vaghela

Kanak Vaghela - Outreach services child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS)

I work with children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. I support them to make the most of their lives. I love my work and the sense of doing something that's important and worthwhile. I can see the difference my work makes to the whole family. I manage a small team of clinicians and outreach workers. We are a very supportive team and regularly discuss ideas and problems. We are always looking for new ways to support our clients. Working for the county council allows me some flexibility to organise my work around my life. The county council offer excellent training opportunities and feel proud to work for the organisation.
