Data Protection Act 1998

The Data Protection Act regulates the way we use your personal information. You provide this information when you seek services from, or come in to contact, with us. The Act provides a legal framework to the way we handle that data.
We will sometimes, with your permission, share your data with other organisations such as health authorities and district councils to help deliver a a better service to you.
You may ask us for copies or look at the files we hold on you and we will make a charge of £10 if you want a copy of your personal data.
You can also ask for copies of cctv recordings in which you appear.
The Data Protection Act is about your data and no-one else's. Your husband, wife, or any other relative is not allowed to see your information without your permission. Parents are allowed to see their children's information until the child can understand the meaning of the Act.
All requests must be in writing (letter or email) and include your name (or and that of individual concerned), an address for correspondence (an email address is fine) and a description of the information required.
