Comprehensive Area Assessment
Before 1st April 2009, Councils were subject to the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA), a Government assessment of the performance of all Authorities in England. 2008 represented the final year of the CPA process and we were delighted to be awarded top-performing four-star status, the highest rating possible. Since 1st April 2009, all Councils and other public sector partners, are subject to the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) process. Administered by the Audit Commission, the CAA process focuses on how well residents are being served by all their local public service providers, how that compares with elsewhere and what prospects there are for future improvement.
