Community safety

together we can

Reducing crime and the fear of crime and intimidation

Buckinghamshire is one of the safest places to live in the country.  Even so, crime and disorder exists, and its effects on your quality of life are serious issues that concern all communities.  Community Safety is a broad term.  It refers to the protection of local communities from the threat and consequence of criminal and anti-social behaviour.  It is achieved through reductions in both actual crime and the fear of crime.

We work with the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) in Buckinghamshire to help people feel safe. It is not solely the concern of just one agency such as the police. The safety of community is our main concern and our services and partners make sure that the prevention of crime and disorder and the safety of our residents and visitors is considered in everything we do.

Community Safety issues include:

  • Crime and disorder
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Fear of crime and building confidence
  • Promoting safer homes and neighbourhoods
  • Environmental issues such as litter, graffiti, fly tipping and abandoned vehicles
