Parish Registers Index
Parish Registers are another important resource for family historians. The registers of over 240 Buckinghamshire parish churches have been deposited at the Record Office and include details of baptisms, marriages, banns and burials, dating back to the mid-16th century.
Microfilmed copies of the majority of registers pre-1900 can be consulted in the Local Studies area of the Centre, and transcripts of many earlier registers are available on the search room shelves.
Where a suitable copy does not exist, the original registers can be seen in the Archives search room, if handled with care.
