Our services are based around vulnerable adults. We work closely with many local and national organisations to provide a high level of care.
NHS Direct - 0845 4647
This offer a 24 hour nurse-led helpline and website called NHS Direct Online. They provide healthcare advice and information on:
- What to do if you’re feeling ill
- Health concerns for you or your family
When you call NHS Direct a nurse will ask you to describe your symptoms and advise you on what to do. This may be treating yourself at home, speaking to a pharmacist, or GP practice, dentist, optician, visiting a walk-in centre or going to hospital. If your problem is very serious, they will connect you to the ambulance service.
They can also provide information about:
- Local health services including late night pharmacies or out of hours dentists
- Self-help and support organisations
Calls are charged at local rates and for patient’s safety, all calls are recorded.
Primary Care Trusts
Primary Care is the care provided by people you normally see when you first have a health problem. This includes doctors, dentists, opticians and pharmacists.
Your PCT works with local authorities and other local agencies providing health and social care to make sure your community's needs are met.
