Carers

If you're looking after someone, a member of your family or friend who needs help because they are ill, frail or have a disability, you are a carer.  We can assess your situation and offer you appropriate support.

Assessment

The assessment is free and confidential. The carer's assessment is for you, the person you care for does not have to be assessed as well but you can choose to be assessed together.

The assessment covers:

• how many hours of care you’re providing and what type of care
• whether you have any free time to yourself
• if caring is affecting your health
• practical help you might need with caring, or with household tasks
• whether you can take a break each year
• whether you would like to work, do a course, or have a hobby
• what you would like to happen if you are unable to look after the person you care for in an emergency

Someone will come out to see you and go through an assessment with you or you can complete the assessment form yourself, send it to the address below and someone will contact you.

Carers Bucks

Carers Bucks is an independent charity which supports unpaid, family carers in Buckinghamshire. They support carers of all ages and in different caring roles with advice and support, training, advocacy and links to other family carers.

In Case of Emergency (ICE) is a service run by Carers Bucks for all carers in Buckinghamshire. ICE aims to give carers peace of mind by providing a backup service which will be put into place if you cannot provide care because of an emergency.
