Choosing your wedding venue is an important decision and we hope you decide to spend your special day with us at the Red Lion Hotel.
The Red Lion is a traditional 16th century coaching inn delightfully situated at the foot of the Chiltern Hills and located in the quaint town of Wendover.
The hotel is steeped in history and tradition and gracefully combines ‘Olde Worlde’ charms with a contemporary look and feel. It is rumoured that Oliver Cromwell once stayed overnight at the inn and addressed his troops from one of the upstairs windows.
The building is listed and its recent refurbishment has retained several stunning features, such as the traditional 17th century fireplace and exposed beams. There are 23 elegantly decorated bedrooms, including the beautiful four-poster Bridal suite, a perfect way to relax after the big day!
Whatever the function, the Red Lion hotel has the facilities to provide for your needs. Our Restaurant can hold up to 80 guests for a wedding dinner and 150 guests for an informal buffet. Alternatively, our Function Room is suited to smaller events, holding up to 25 guests depending on how you wish to dine.
With superb reception and bedroom facilities and two rooms fully licensed for Civil ceremonies, we can offer you the opportunity to enjoy your whole day in one location.
